The government has announced a big help for the farmers amidst the economic crisis that has arisen due to 21 days of lockdown to deal with the coronavirus infection crisis. An installment of Rs 2,000 will be transferred to the account of 8 crore farmers in the country in the first week of April.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave this information while announcing the corona relief fund of Rs 1 lakh 70 thousand crores. He said that this will provide convenience to 8 crores 74 lakh farmers of the country.

Apart from this, the government has increased the rate of wages in MNREGA to Rs 202 per day. This will benefit 5 crore families. Till now the daily wage of laborers under MNREGA was Rs 182.
Not only this but women of poor families will also be provided free LPD cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme for three months.
An amount of Rs 500 will be transferred every month to the account of 20 crore women with Jan Dhan’s account.

This amount will be transferred for three consecutive months till the month of June. Not only this, an additional pension of Rs. 1,000 will be given to senior citizens, differently-abled, pensions.
Explain that under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, poor farmer families are given three times a year an amount of Rs. 6, 000 in installments of Rs. 2,000.
A target has been set to add 14 crore farmers in the country under this scheme.
It is worth noting that while announcing the Corona Relief Package, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also announced giving 6 kg additional ration per month to 80 crore poor people of the country for free.
He said that till now 5 kg of wheat or rice was provided on a subsidy per poor person, and now 5 kg ration will get additional i.e. 80 crores poor of the country will get 10 kg government ration by the month of June.
