WhatsApp is releasing a new ‘Longer group information’ feature to beta Android users. According to the reports with this feature, users will be able to describe groups in a better and easier way within the group subjects. The platform has submitted this update through the Google Play Beta Program and it is Compatible with the latest 2.23.3.9 version of the app.
According to the available report of WABetaInfo, in this update, the Meta-owned platform has exceeded the number of characters while entering the group subject and description. Earlier you could type up to 25 characters in the subject and 512 characters in the description which has now been increased to 100 and 2048 characters. Know more details in this article below.
WhatsApp provides Longer group information
It is popularly known that WhatsApp keeps working on new features to improve its user experience on the app. In this current beta update, the Instant messaging platform is introducing longer group subjects and descriptions bringing improvements in the groups feature. This feature lets users describe their groups in a more appropriate way by providing longer group information.
The leading WhatsApp news tracker has also shared a screenshot of the feature. The image reveals the changes that the platform has made in the number of characters. You can see that after you type the group subject and description, the platform shows a pop-up message informing you about the number of characters you can enter.
This will be helpful for group admins as now they will be able to give more informative names to their groups which would also indicate the group’s purpose. According to the report, now you can choose your group subject within 100 words which was earlier limited to 25 words.
For group description, you can type up to 2048 characters which was earlier limited only to 512 characters. With this feature, the group admins can provide all important details and information about the group. This way group participants will also have a clear view and knowledge about the group they have joined.
The company has rolled out a longer group information feature for testing. Those who install the latest version of WhatsApp should be able to use this feature. If you still cannot enter longer descriptions for your group, please wait for some time. It will appear within 24 hours.
