WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out ‘Chat Filters’ for the Universal windows platform. The platform has submitted this update through the official beta channel with this update, the version reaches up to 2.2216.4.0. According to the reports, this update will be available on the Microsoft Store.

The report mentions that in this update the platform is enabling a feature that allows you to filter your chats. Recently WhatsApp has been rolling out a lot of new features for all platforms. WhatsApp rolling out Chat Filters for Universal Windows Platform

You all must be knowing that UWP is a computing platform that was created by Microsoft and was first introduced in Windows 10 to help develop Universal apps that run on windows devices. A few months back the Meta-owned platform presented an opening update on the Universal Windows Platform seeking feedback.

After this, the platform started to bring more improvements to windows with the latest up-to-date features for windows users. In its previous WhatsApp beta, UWP 2.2215.1.0 update WhatsApp released the ability to view your all-starred messages and a new user interface for voice calls. After this release, the Instant Messaging app is reported to be developing new features for the beta app recently.

Particularly the company is reportedly adding a new button in the chats list Interface as Chat filters. This button is already available for WhatsApp Business accounts on android and iOS devices. This button will be visible to everyone after installing the latest version of the Universal Windows Platform.

There are four filters available at present:-

  • ‘Unread’ – when you select this filter all your Android chats will be visible.
  • ‘Contacts’ – After you select this filter the App will show up a list of all the contacts saved in your address book.
  • ‘Non-contacts’ – This filter lets you see a list of all your unknown chats.
  • ‘Groups’ – when you select this filter the app will let you see a full list of all those groups you are a part of and will also present old group chats.
