WhatsApp is releasing a ‘voice status updates ‘ feature for beta Android users. According to the reports this with this update, users get the ability to share voice notes in status updates. This feature is currently rolled out only to some select beta testers. Earlier WABetaInfo had posted news about this under-development feature.
The report mentioned that the WhatsApp dev team was working to develop a feature that would let users share voice messages as status updates. WhatsApp-enabled voice status updates
In a previous article leading WhatsApp news source reported about WhatsApp beta for Android update. In this article, the news source shared details of the voice status updates feature which was under development process at that time now the feature is enabled for some Android Beta testers. This means these users will now be able to share voice notes as statuses on WhatsApp.
This function has been added within the text status section of the app. The WhatsApp new tracker has also shared a screenshot of the feature. In the image, you can see the newly added ‘mic’ icon that will let you record your voice note. Users can even delete a recording before sharing it or even after sharing it. This option gives users more control over their voice recording.
Notably, the time limit for recording voice notes is 30 seconds. However, people who have installed the latest version of the app can only be able to listen to these voice status updates. The report further mentions that this feature is fully protected with end-to-end encryption. Just like the image status and video status updates, voice status updates also gets disappeared after 24 hours.
The voice status updates feature is available in the latest 184.108.40.206 beta version of the Android app within the Google Play beta program. Those who don’t see the feature even after installing the latest version will have to wait for a future update. The company is gradually rolling it out in steps so you can expect to see it soon in the coming weeks.
