This feature, initially available for groups, has now been extended to communities. When creating an event, users can specifically input details such as the event name, description, date, time, and location.
Additionally, there is an option to include a WhatsApp voice or video call. Once the event is created, all community members are notified, and event details are accessible from the Community info page.
How to Set Up Events in WhatsApp Communities
Setting up events in WhatsApp communities is a straightforward process:
- Navigate to the WhatsApp group within the community where you wish to create the event.
- Tap on the attachment icon and select the Event option.
- Enter the event details, including the name, description, date, time, and optional location.
- Toggle the WhatsApp call link option and choose between Voice and Video call.
- Tap the send icon to create the event.
How to Respond to a WhatsApp Communities Event
Once an event is created, community members can respond to indicate their availability:
- Tap on the Respond option below the Event message in the community group.
- Choose between Going or Can’t go to confirm attendance.
- Selecting Going will ensure that you receive further updates and changes regarding the event.
